Équipements Incendie Levasseur Inc. was a Canadian fire apparatus manufacturer located in Saint-François-du-Lac, Québec.
History
Jean Levasseur worked as a designer for Pierre Thibault Fire Trucks in nearby Pierreville. When Thibault ceased operations in 1988, he formed his own company. Initially, Levasseur sold used apparatus and rebuilt older units. The company also served as the dealer for Grumman Emergency Products in the early 1990s.
Later, the company started building new trucks. Levasseur experienced financial trouble and was forced into bankruptcy in May 2014.
Products
Levasseur builds pumpers, tanker and rescues on commercial and custom chassis. Most units are delivered to fire departments in Québec.
