History[]
In July 1892, Franklin W. Olin founded the Equitable Powder Company on 300 acres in East Alton, Illinois – the same site where 20 years later he would build the brass mill that remains the centerpiece of Wieland Rolled Products NA today.
Olin Brass parent company Global Brass and Copper announced April 8, 2019 that it will merge with Germany-based Wieland-Werke AG.
The department was previously staffed under contract by Rural Metro Fire.
