Westinghouse

History[]

The Westinghouse Company, a world-famous manufacturer of appliances and electronics, briefly built horse-drawn gasoline-powered fire apparatus in Schenectady, New York. About a half-dozen pieces were built for the Schenectady Fire Department, FDNY, Brockton Fire Department and New Haven Fire Department between 1906 and 1911. Westinghouse chose to exit the apparatus field in 1911 or 1912.
