Firefighter Charles McKenzie, 75
West Van Lear Fire Department. KY
Firefighter McKenzie operated a tanker to the scene of a working structure fire. When McKenzie exited the vehicle to supply water, the truck jumped into gear while pumping and rolled forward pinning him beneath the apparatus. Firefighter McKenzie succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
