Area Served[]

Victoria International Airport Fire and Rescue serves the Victoria International Airport, located 14 miles north northwest of the city of Victoria on southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The facility was originally constructed as RCAF Station Patricia Bay and operated by the Federal government. Ownership and operation of the airport was transferred in the 1960's to the Victoria Airport Authority. The airport is located on the Saanich Peninsula, with the bulk of the airport (including the passenger terminal) in the District of North Saanich, and a small portion of the airfield extending into the town of Sidney.

Department Profile[]

Victoria International Airport Fire and Rescue operates three ARFF crash tenders, one Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV), and one support vehicle to deal with emergencies at the airport. The current station (Airport Fire Service and Airport Operations) opened in 2010 to replace the original station dating back to World War II.
