The Vector is marketed as the first North American-style all-electric fire truck. The apparatus consists of the customer selected cab and body placed onto the Vector "Skateboard". The Skateboard being the frame carrying the driveline containing the electric systems, and optionally the "range extender engine."

The first one delivered to a fire department was put in service in Mesa, Arizona in January 2024. [1]

The Skateboard[]

Vector Skateboard

The Vector skateboard consists of the frame, suspension, brakes, turning gear, and a modified drive train. The modified drive train consists of an electric drive motor, fire pump, and high-capacity batteries. Additionally a non-motive diesel engine can be added. This "range extender engine" automatically engages and recharges batteries if the lower limit of EV battery state of charge is reached.

Cabs[]

So far, the Vector has been produced with the E-One Cyclone and E-One Typhoon cabs, although apparently it can be ordered and built using any REV Group cab/body combinations.
