About[]

The Valley Regional Fire Authority is a Regional Fire Authority (RFA) formed under RCW Chapter 52.26. It is an independent municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Washington that provides fire protection and emergency medical services.

Area Served[]

Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) serves the Cities of Algona, Auburn, and Pacific. The greatest portion of the departments service area is in King County, Washington, though, small portions of Auburn and Pacific are in Pierce County to the south, with one of VRFA's stations being located within a portion of the City of Auburn in Pierce County.

History[]

On November 7, 2006, voters in the Cities of Algona, Auburn, and Pacific approved the merger of their respective fire departments with a combined 16,568 "yes" votes and 6,981 "no" votes.[1][2] The Valley Regional Fire Authority was officially formed on January 1, 2007.

34 31204 124th Avenue SE, Auburn 2008-2011[7] Built 1981. Former King County Fire Protection District No. 44 station. Sold to Valley RFA following the annexation of the stations and the surrounding Lea Hill region by the City of Auburn. Replaced by new Fire Station 34 in 2011.
35 2905 C Street SW, Auburn 2007-Present Built 1944. Leased from the City of Auburn, who also uses the building as their city maintenance shop.
38 133rd Avenue SE, Pacific 2007-Present Buit in 1979. Former Pacific Fire Department station. Shared with Pacific Police Department.
