A twin-agent extinguishing system, commonly referred to as a Twin Agent Unit or TAU provides the benefits of dry chemical and foam (AFFF or CAFS) fire extinguishing agents. It is most commonly used for aircraft rescue firefighting and areas where there is a high incidence of Class B hazards.
The dry chemical knocks down the fire rapidly while the foam lays a vapour-suppressing blanket on the fuel.
