Area Served[]

The Tucson Airport Authority Fire Department serves the Tucson International Airport, a combination civil-military airport located 8 miles south of downtown Tucson, in Pima County, southeastern Arizona. The facility, consisting of 7,938 acres with two asphalt runways, was originally constructed in 1919 as a municipally owned airport, and has been operated since 1948 by the nine member Tucson Airport Authority. Tucson International Airport hosts Morris Air National Guard Base, a 92-acre complex on the northwest corner of the airport that is home to the 162nd Wing of the Arizona Air National Guard.

Mutual Aid[]

The Tucson Airport Authority Fire Department has a mutual aid agreement with the Tucson Fire Department, as well as with the 162nd Wing Fire Department of the Arizona National Guard, also located on the field in separate quarters.

The Tucson Airport Authority Fire Department operates four ARFF crash tenders, one Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV), and one pumper/rescue to deal with emergencies at the airport.
