Portions of Trent Lakes near Bobcaygeon are covered through an automatic aid agreement with Kawartha Lakes Fire & Rescue Service.

History[]

In 1998, the Township of Harvey and the Townships of Galway & Cavendish amalgamated to form Galway-Cavendish and Harvey Township. The municipality was renamed Trent Lakes in 2013.

Each municipality had its own fire department prior to amalgamation, namely Galway & Cavendish Township Fire Department and Harvey Township Fire Department.

Future Plans[]

The Municipality of Trent Lakes called tenders for the construction of a new fire hall and public works depot in Buckhorn in August 2025. The facility will be located at 8 Melody Bay Road, which is adjacent to the existing hall.
