Superior Fire Apparatus Company was an American fire truck manufacturer located in Helena, Montana. Although this company shares it's first name with the Canadian fire apparatus builder Superior Emergency Vehicles, it was not related in any way.
History[]
Formed in 1956, Superior Fire Apparatus Company built pumpers, tankers, mini pumpers, brush trucks and aerials on both custom and commercial chassis. A majority of their deliveries were to local fire departments throughout the Northwestern United States, although some were delivered to California, Hawaii, Nevada, the South Pacific, and several to the Middle East. Over one thousand fire trucks were produced by Superior. Sometime in the early 2000’s they ceased production when the owner retired. The exact date is not known.
