Area Served[]

The Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District (SCFPD) provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the cities of Riverbank and Waterford, as well as for a large unincorporated area within Stanislaus County which includes the unincorporated communities of Empire, La Grange, Hickman, an area in Eastern Stanislaus County, the Modesto City-County Airport District, the Gallo Winery and the Beard Industrial Tract, all located in the Central Valley between the Coastal Ranges and the Sierra Nevada, some 68 miles south of the City Sacramento, in Northern California. SCFPD encompasses an area covering 195 square miles, and serves a population of 50,000+ residents within its geographical boundaries.

Mutual Aid[]

The Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District has mutual aid agreements with the CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit (TCU) the Burbank-Paradise Fire District (BRB) the Denair Fire Protection District (DEN), the Hughson Fire Protection District (HGS), the Keyes Fire Protection District (KEY), the West Stanislaus County Fire Protection District (WSF) and the Escalon Fire District in San Joaquin County, as well as under the MCS contract, with the Modesto Fire Department, the Turlock Fire Department (TUR), and the Turlock Rural Fire Protection District (TRL).

The Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District is budgeted for 50 full-time paid firefighters, 5 firefighter intern positions, and 3 full-time administrative/support personnel, working out of 5 paid and 1 volunteer fire stations.

Under an administrative-only contract fire administration for the District is provided by the Modesto Fire Department. The District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. The board members are appointed by each city in the district (Riverbank and Waterford) with the remaining three (3) members being appointed by the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors.

Dispatch[]

The Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District is a member of a regional fire and emergency services communication system called the Stanislaus Regional Communication Center, also referred to as Stanislaus Regional 9-1-1, located in the City of Modesto, which provides dispatch services for multiple Law Enforcement and Fire Agencies throughout Stanislaus County.

History[]

The Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District was formed on March 3, 1995 as a result of Project 94, an exploratory project with the goal of providing the most effective and efficient method of public fire service delivery by reorganizing or combining fire service agencies. The District was created by merging the original boundaries of the Stanislaus County Fire District, the Empire Fire Protection District, the Riverbank Fire Protection District and the Waterford-Hickman Fire District.
