History[]

The Spencer County Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1953 and the Fire District in 1993. In 1999, the District absorbed the Ridgeview Fire District.

Spencer County and Taylorsville merged their fire departments, creating the Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Department.
