The Metro Star is a custom chassis built by Spartan Emergency Response.

History & Specs[]

The Metro Star was introduced in 1991 and is one of Spartan's most popular models. It is a medium duty chassis with a variety of options. Engine choices are Cummins ISC8.3 or L9 with horsepower ratings ranging from 330-450 and can be supplied with an Allison 3000 EVS transmission. The Metro Star features a 94" wide cab and also has another variant with slightly different specs; the Metro Star-RT. The Metro Star is also available in Evolution front fascia styling.

The Metro Star has seen several re-designs over the years. In 2008, the Metro Star received an updated grille. In 2011, it received new headlight bezels, a newer windshield, and other minor changes.

In 2019, Spartan began offering the Cummins X12 engine and Allison 4000 EVS transmission for the Metro Star chassis. Horsepower ratings are now available up to 500, allowing this chassis to be configured with larger, heavy-duty apparatus.
