History[]
South Stormont was formed in 1998 through the amalgamation of Cornwall Township and Osnabruck Township. Each of the two municipalities had their own fire departments prior to the merger, namely the Cornwall Township Fire Department in Long Sault and St. Andrews, and the Osnabruck Township Fire Department in Ingleside and Newington.
