Department Overview[]

South Central PA Search/Rescue (York County Station 93) is a volunteer search and rescue (SAR) department in York County, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1998, the department was originally structured to cover the entire South Central Pennsylvania region, including Adams County, Franklin County, York County, and others. As time went on and the team downsized, the organization came to focus primarily on York County. It was listed as a county fire department and assigned the designation "Search 93" in the CAD system in 2021.

Today, Search 93 is a comprehensive search and rescue organization. In addition to ground searchers, 93 operates a K-9 program, a drone program, and is a licensed as a Quick Response Service (QRS) by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. This allows EMT members of the team to provide medical aid in the full scope of Pennsylvania BLS Protocols. The team primarily covers York County, but will respond for mutual aid in other counties as requested.
