History[]
The refinery was built in 1916 and was closed in 1985. The closure of the L'Impérial (ESSO) refinery coincided with those of the refineries of Texaco, Gulf Canada, and BP. These massive closures of refineries were made in the late 70s and early 80's during the oil crisis.
