Overview[]

The Secaucus Fire Department is a volunteer department that protects a population of approximately 22,000 residents in an area of just under 7 square miles.

History[]

Washington Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 was organized in 1891, Engine Company No. 1 was organized in 1900 as Hose Company No. 1, Clarendon Hose and Hook & Ladder Company No. 2 was organized in 1907, Hose Company No. 1 was organized in 1911 as Luhrman Hose Company No. 3 and Chicora Park Chemical Company No. 1 was organized in 1922.
