The Scarsdale Fire Department is a combination career and volunteer organization consisting of 46 career members, and about 50 volunteers who protect approximately 18,000 residents in an area of 6.68 square miles. Scarsdale is considered a rather upscale bedroom community and one of the more affluent suburbs of New York City.
