Sarasota County Fire Department provides EMS service to the Englewood Area Fire Control District, the Nokomis Fire Department and North Port Fire Rescue.
The Sarasota County Fire Department operates within the City of Sarasota under an Interlocal Agreement. This agreement was first undertaken on Nov. 21, 1995
History[]
The Sarasota County Fire and Rescue District was created from the amalgamation of:
- the Metropolitan Sarasota County Fire District,
- the South County Fire District, and;
- the Southeast Area Fire and Ambulance District.
The Pinecraft Fire Control District dissolved and its service area was assumed by the Sarasota County Fire Department.
