The San Mateo County Fire Department, through a contractual agreement with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) / San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit (CZU), provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the unincorporated areas of San Mateo County not served by a municipal fire department or fire protection district.
