History[]
Roney Fire Equipment was an American fire apparatus manufacturer located in Portland, Oregon. Formed by Douglas Roney in the early 1950s, the company built apparatus on commercial chassis for departments in the northwestern United States. Roney sold his company to the Convoy Company of Portland in the early 1960s and it was renamed Westland Fire Apparatus.
Roney also formed a partnership with Henry Whitehouse of Matsqui , British Columbia to build fire apparatus in Canada in 1959. Whitehouse purchased the operation after Roney ceased operations, forming Hub Fire Engines. Hub was Canada's oldest apparatus manufacturer.
