The Rockingham County DFR is a combination department made up of:
- 10 volunteer departments, and;
- 7 volunteer rescue squads.
Special Operations Teams consist of the:
- Swift Water Rescue Team,
- Regional Hazardous Materials Team,
- Search and Rescue Team, and;
- Technical Rescue Team.
