On November 7, 2007, voters approved the consolidation of Lewis County Fire District 12 and Centralia Fire Department, forming Riverside Fire Authority on January 1, 2008. On February 14, 2012, voters approved the dissolution of Fire District 12 with 1,353 "yes" votes and 405 "no" votes.
