History[]
Richland Township was originally covered by three separate fire companies, namely the original Richland Township department,the Solomon Run Fire Cpmpany and Belmont Volunteer Fire Company. Richland and Solomon Run consolidated in 2000. Belmont was merged in 2004. The Geistown Volunteer Fire Company in adjoining Geistown Borough joined in 2010.
