History[]

The Quatsino Volunteer Fire Department was formed in April 1981 after a fire destroyed the home of a long time resident family. The Department is administered by the charitable Quatsino Fire and Rescue Society. The Fire Hall was built and paid for by the community in 2000 and sits on 2 hectares of Crown Land leased for this purpose through the Regional District. In July 2016, Quatsino Fire Rescue was added to the 911 dispatch system.
