History[]
The Town of Pelham was created in 1970 through the amalgamation of the Village of Fonthill, the Township of Pelham and a small portion of the Township of Thorold as part of municipal restructuring that created the Region of Niagara. Prior to amalgamation, fire protection was provided by the Fonthill Fire Department and Pelham Township's Fenwick Fire Department.
