History[]
The Pacheedaht First Nation, located near Port Renfrew, operated its own fire department, but began to receive fire protection from the Port Renfrew Volunteer Fire Department in the early 2000s. The agreement was formalized around 2008 and a new jointly-funded Port Renfrew fire station was completed in 2010.
