History[]
Circa 2022, the town government of Owens Cross Roads voted to sever ties with Owens Cross Roads Volunteer Fire Department (Station 61) and formed the City of Owens Cross Roads Fire & Rescue (Station 63) The two departments now operate independently. The “city department” strictly serves the city limits and is daytime staffed, while the volunteer department covers the outlying areas of the town.
