Area Served[]
The Oshkosh Fire Department (OFD) provides fire protection and life safety services to the City of Oshkosh and, through an inter-governmental agreement, to the City and Town of Omro, as well as the towns of Algoma, Black Wolf, Nekimi, Poygan, Rushford, Utica, and the Town and Village of Winneconne, all located in Winnebago County, in east-central Wisconsin. OFD also provides aircraft rescue and firefighting services to Wittman Regional Airport, originally Winnebago County Airport, a county-owned public-use airport located two nautical miles south of the central business district of Oshkosh. Incorporated on April 5, 1853, and named named for the Native American Menominee Chief Oshkosh, the city encompasses an area covering 28.03 square miles, and serves a population of approximately 66,816 residents.
Mutual Aid[]
The Oshkosh Fire Department has mutual aid agreements with the Algoma Fire Department (Winnebago County, Wisconsin), the Fox Crossing Fire Department, Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue, the Omro-Rushford Fire Department, the Town of Oshkosh Fire Department, and the Winneconne-Poygan Fire District.

The Oshkosh Fire Department was established as a volunteer organization in 1856, three years after the incorporation of the city.
