When Pierre Thibault ceased operations in 1990, a group of investors purchased the assets of the company. The transaction involved two manufacturing facilities, the original Thibault plant in Pierreville, and the Pierreville Fire Trucks plant in Saint-François-du-Lac. Fire truck production resumed under the new name.
Over the years, NovaQuintech also acquired a dealer of fire equipment, C.M.P. Maillé of Sainte-Julie, Québec, and the assets of Phoenix Fire Apparatus after its 1992 bankruptcy. Many of the employees of Thibault and Pierreville Fire Trucks worked for the new company.
In 1995, NovaQuintech announced that it was ending production of pumpers to concentrate solely on aerial ladder and platform assemblies. In 1997, they sold the aerial line to Pierce Manufacturing and ended operations.
Production[]
NovaQuintech built trucks on commercial and custom chassis supplied by Spartan Motors and other companies. Most deliveries were to departments in eastern Canada, but some trucks were delivered to the United States.
Service de Sécurité Incendie de Montréal was a major customer of aerial ladder trucks. The company also built 21 Spartan pumpers for the Department of National Defence in 1992-93. These trucks were used for structural firefighting on Canadian Forces facilities across Canada until the 2010s.
