Overview[]
The City of North Vancouver seceded from the District of North Vancouver on May 13, 1907. The North Vancouver City Fire Department (NVCFD) was also established in 1907. Today the department has 64 full-time staff serving the City's 51,000 citizens from one central firehall.
The department also has an automatic and mutual aid agreement with the Districts of North and West Vancouver through the North Shore Emergency Management tri-municipal agreement to respond to emergencies within each other districts.
