History[]
The Township of North Stormont was formed in 1998 through the amalgamation of three municipalities. Each municipality had its own fire department and the three were merged to form the new fire service:
- Finch Fire Department in the Village of Finch
- Finch Township Fire Department in Crysler
- Roxborough Township Fire Department with separate fire areas in Avonmore and Moose Creek
