History[]
The West Adams County Fire Department was formed in 1946. In 1994, West Adams FD and Thornton Fire Department merged to form the North Metro Fire Authority, but in 2000, the two departments de-amalgamated. North Metro changed its name to North Metro Fire Rescue District at that time.
