North Mason Regional Fire Authority

History[]

North Mason Regional Fire Authority was formed on January 1, 2014 by the merger of Mason County Fire Protection District No. 2 and Mason County Fire Protection District No. 8, resulting in the dissolution of both of the former districts. The RFA protects a population of 24,000 over 136 square miles and responds to 3100 calls annually.

An agreement was formed between District 2 and Mason County Public Works for a 35 year lease of the station & land in exchange for provision of fire service from the district. This agreement was renewed in 2015 and is in place until 2035.

25	101 East Christmas Tree Place, Belfair	2014-present	Former Mason County Fire District 2 Station 25. Built on land acquired for the Twanoh Falls Beach Club in 1993.

81	14880 NE North Shore Road, Tahuya	2014-present	Former Mason County Fire District 8 Station 81. Built in 1967 as a small 2 bay station, expanded in 1980 with a third bay, community space, and offices.
