Area Served[]
The North County Fire Authority provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the cities of Brisbane, Daly City and Pacifica, all located in the San Francisco Bay area, immediately south of the City of San Francisco, on the northern edge of San Mateo County, Northern California. Incorporated as a city on November 27, 1961, and named for either Brisbane, Queensland, Australia or for newspaper columnist Arthur Brisbane, the city of Brisbane encompasses an area covering 19.97 square miles and serves a population of approximately 4,851 inhabitants. Incorporated as a city on March 22, 1911 and named for businessman and landowner John Donald Daly, the city of Daly City encompasses an area covering 7.64 square miles and serves a population of 104,901 inhabitants. Incorporated as a city on November 22, 1957, and meaning "Peaceful" in Spanish, the city of Pacifica encompasses an area covering 12.59 square miles and serves a population of 38,640 inhabitants.

In 2003, the cities of Daly City, Brisbane, and Pacifica collaborated to form the North County Fire Authority (NCFA) through a Joint Powers Authority agreement. North County Fire Authority is a combination of three departments:
