History[]
The North Algona Township Fire Department was created in 1949. The department built a fire station and purchased its first fire truck in 1974. In 2000, North Algona was amalgamated with the adjoining Township of Wilberforce and the fire department's name changed to reflect that of the new municipality.
Parts of the municipality are covered by the Douglas Fire Department and Bonnechere Valley Fire Department.
