History[]

The Town of New Tecumseth was created through amalgamation in 1994. New Tecumseth Fire Rescue was formed at the same time, amalgamating the Alliston Fire Department, Beeton Fire Department and Tottenham Fire Department.

Future Plans[]

The municipality has started to build a fourth fire station in the east end of the community of Alliston. The new building will be located at 6365 14th Line beside the regional sewage treatment plant, and will serve as department headquarters. A ground breaking ceremony took place on June 17, 2025 and completion is expected in late 2026 or early 2027.[4]
