History[]

The Montclair Fire Department was formed in 1885. The Montclair Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 was formed in 1882, The Montclair Hose Company was formed in 1885, Excelsior Hose Company No. 2 was organized in 1887, Washington Hose Company No. 3 was organized in 1887, Cliffside Hose Company No. 4 was formed in 1888 and Hose Company No. 5 was formed in 1905.
