Area Served[]
The Middletown FD is one of three fire departments serving the city of Middletown, Connecticut; along side the South Fire District and the Westfield Fire Department). Serving the downtown area, MFD is also first due to Wesleyan University, numerous popular shops and restaurants along Main Street, industrial properties in the north end, several large shopping centers and residential areas, a busy state highway, and a portion of the Connecticut River. They also respond frequently as mutual aid (along with the Portland Fire Department), to the Arrigoni Bridge, a major link between Middletown and Portland (and by extension, both sides of the river).
Department Profile[]
MFD is an all-career department, and responds from two stations which split the district into roughly two equal parts. Each shift is commanded by a Battalion Chief, and three engines and the tower have dedicated staffing.
Apparatus Roster[]
All pump/tank measurements are in US gallons.
