Overview[]
The MVFC protects the small town of Middlefield, Connecticut. Primarily a rural, residential, and agricultural community; it hosts two major seasonal tourist attractions - Lyman Orchards, popular in the fall, and the Powder Ridge Ski Area, popular in the winter.

Future Plans[]
- In June 2025, Middlefield town voters approved a plan to build a new public safety facility (fire station, police, and emergency operations), by completely renovating the current building, and adding a large addition onto it.
- As of November 2025, construction had begun on the new facility.
