History[]

The McDougall Township Fire Department was formed in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Previously, the Township purchased protection from the adjoining Town of Parry Sound. In 2001, McDougall Township annexed the adjoining unorganized Township of Ferguson, making the Ferguson Fire Team part of the fire department.
