Marsh Pumps was a fire apparatus manufacturer located in Stratford, Ontario.

History[]

Marsh was the Canadian subsidiary of American Fire Apparatus, itself a division of American Marsh Pumps Inc., makers of the Barton American pump brand. After the Second World War, Barton pumps were built and sold by C.E. Hickey and Sons of Hamilton, Ontario. In 1951, a dedicated facility was built in Stratford to serve the Canadian market. The company ceased operations in 1965.

Production[]

Most of Marsh's trucks were pumpers on commercial chassis. Deliveries were made to departments across Canada. The manufacturer's logo, often located above the pump panel, said "American Marsh."
