The Margate City Fire Department is a career fire department that employs around 38 firefighters protecting a population of 5,300 residents in an area of 1.6 square miles. The MCFD also provides emergency medical services on the BLS level.

The South Atlantic City Fire Company was formed in 1903. The Margate City Fire Department was formed in 1926.
