History[]

Macungie Fire Company No. 1 was officially chartered in 1907. The Macungie Volunteer Fire Department took over firefighting services from the century-old Macungie Fire Company No. 1 in 2008. After a protracted legal battle it was closed in December 2016. It was relaunched sometime in early 2017.

Effective January 1, 2024, the company was decertified by the Borough of Macungie and responsibility for fire protection transferred to the Lower Macungie Fire Department.
