The MR-Series was a chassis manufactured by Mack Trucks Inc. produced between 1978 and 2007. The MR had a sister model, the MC-Series; which was offered until 1990. Originally the MR was meant for and marketed as a specialized version of the MC model for refuse works, but over time the areas of application increased. Mack built complete fire apparatus using the MR chassis from 1978 to 1984, but continued to offer it to other manufacturers to build bodies on until 2007; when it was replaced by the Mack TerraPro, an updated and slightly redesigned version of the MR.
