The M915 tractor truck is the base member of the M915 series of logistic trucks. In the US Army it is referred to as the Light Equipment Transport (LET). It replaced in service the M123 tractor truck. The M915 Series was of three designs, by three manufacturers. The first was a design by Crane Carrier Company, manufactured by AM General (M915, M915A1). The second was a Freightliner Trucks design with a different engine and transmission, hood and cab (M915A2, M915A3). The third was a completely different design again, this time manufactured by Daimler Trucks N.A. (M915A5).
The M915 and follow on M915A1 were a Crane Carrier Company design based on CCC's Centaur commercial tractor, built under contract by AM General between 1978 and 1982.
The M915A2, introduced in 1990, manufactured by Freightliner, introduced an Automatic Braking System (ABS) and was based on the commercial FLD 120 vehicle. The M915A2 was powered by the Detroit Diesel Series 60 Engine with 430HP, 1450 Lb-Ft torque and an Allison HD4560P 6 Speed Automatic Transmission.

- M915A2 - Truck, Tractor, 14-ton, 6 × 4 (Freightliner)
- M915A3 - Truck, Tractor, 14-ton, 6 × 4 (Freightliner)
- M915A4 - Truck, Tractor, 14-ton, 6 × 4 (Refurbish and Upgrade of A0 to A3 models)
- M915A5 - Truck, Tractor, 14-ton, 6 × 4 (Daimler Trucks North America) (The A5 standard was the addition of an armour package to the A3.)
- M916 - Truck, Tractor, 14-ton, 6 × 6 w/ winch (AM General)
- M916A1 - Truck , Tractor 14-ton 6 × 6 w/ winch (Freightliner)
- M916A2 - Truck , Tractor 14-ton 6 × 4 or 6 × 6 (selectable) w/ winch (Freightliner)
- M916A3 - Truck , Tractor 14-ton 6 × 4 or 6 × 6 (selectable) w/ winch (Freightliner)
- M917 - Truck, Dump, 20-ton, 8 × 6
- M918 - Truck, Bituminous Distributor, 6 × 6
- M919 - Truck, Concrete Mixer, 8 × 6
- M920 - Truck, Tractor, 20-ton, 8 × 6
