Department Profile[]

The Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department is a combination department, serving the unincorporated areas of northwest Mecklenburg County. Their service area is approximately 10 square miles with a population of ~10,000 people. The department service area sits between the City of Charlotte Fire Department, the Huntersville Fire Department and the Cooks Community Volunteer Fire Department.

History[]

Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1952. In the original Mecklenburg County number system, Long Creek VFD was designated station 10 (the county no longer uses this system).
