
Overview[]
The Lincolnwood Fire Department, established as a fire protection agency in 1990, is staffed under contract with Paramedic Services of Illinois (PSI). They provide fire suppression, special rescue, and emergency medical services to the Village of Lincolnwood. Lincolnwood Fire Department is dispatched on the Skokie Fire Department radio frequency by the Skokie Police Department Communications Center.
History[]
PSI has been under contract with the Village to provide paramedic services since 1977. PSI's contract for fire protection was signed in December 1989. Prior to 1990, all village fire protection was provided by the City of Chicago Fire Department.
