History[]
Lavigne is located on Highway 64 between Verner and Noelville, on Lake Nipissing's Northwest Bay. Until 1999, Lavigne was located in a municipally-unorganized area. The Fire Protection Team was formed with the assistance of the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal. In 1999, the area became part of the Municipality of West Nipissing and the fire team part of West Nipissing Fire Service.
